Awards

The Club has a number of Awards/Trophies which are presented each year to the most deserving Club Member in each of the categories. These awards cover racing and non-racing activities and are presented at the Annual Dinner and Prize Presentation evening, which is held in December/January each year.
The Award Categories are listed below:

Road Race Champion (one award only)

The winner will be decided by the Committee based on results presented by individuals at the end of the year.

Cyclo-Cross Champion (one award only)

The winner will be decided by the Committee based on results presented by individuals at the end of the year.

Track Champion (one award only)

The winner will be decided by the Committee based on results presented by individuals at the end of the year.

Criterium Champion (one award only)

The winner normally decided on the basis of points awarded at the Victoria Park events. If Victoria Park races do not take place then the winner will be decided by the Committee based on results presented by individuals at the end of the year.

Time Trial Champions (male and female ie. two awards)

The winners will be decided on the basis of the best aggregate time over three 10 mile time trials. This means you have to ride 3 tens to qualify for the award. These can be any three tens, open events or local club events.

Hill Climb Champions (male and female ie. two awards)

Awarded on the basis of the best time achieved in the Club Hill Climb competition.

Most Improved Riders (male and female ie. two awards)

Decided by the Committee based on an assessment of members’ cycling performance throughout the year.

Achievement Award (one award only)

Decided by the Committee based on an assessment of any special cycling-related performances throughout the year.

Club Member of the Year Award

Decided by the Committee based on the individual member’s contribution to Club activities throughout the year. This award will be considered for any regular or special involvement in Club activities (eg. participation on clubruns, organising/helping to organise cycling or social events etc.).

Half Wheel Award (one award only)

Decided by a committee of the club members based on the ability to try and ride your cycling colleagues into the ground throughout the year.
