Following our Chairman's plea for volunteers and my anouncement on Saturday outside the castle, I can now confirm that we have six members offering their services to help with the running of our club's main event of the year. Please, please can a few more people step forward by contacting me, Steve Hesketh by email at steve.r.hesketh@ntlworld.com or by phone on 01926 492014 or at the roller evening on Wednesday. We have quite a few members who are entered in the races and it is a great opportunity to give them your support and to socialise with friends whilst performing fairly pleasant tasks. Your help would be very much appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Race organiser
Steve Hesketh

Steve

Although I'm racing, happy to come along early to help do some set up.

Come on Wheelers, lets behave like a club. People are putting a lot of effort into this and it doesn't look like we are supporting it very well.

Cheers
Charles

With only three weeks to go to the first event, the last thing our Chief Organiser (Steve Hesketh) should have to worry about is how to get enough helpers. In my view Club members should be rushing forward to help and Steve should be saved the onerous task of chasing/begging for help. :x

He will need some 15 helpers on each day (more than that would be good as jobs can then be shared round a bit more) and we don't have a clubrun on race days so there should be at least 30 people with time on their hands who can come and help. The jobs are very straightforward so you will not need lots of skill/know-how.

Three weeks may seem like a long time, but if you get your name in to Steve asap it's another job he can cross off his list and I can assure you it will be an enormous help at this stage of his planning process. So get in touch with Steve now - you know it makes sense! 8)

A big THANK YOUto everyone who has volunteered their services for 27th March. We have plenty of help now and I can, once again , get a good night's sleep. I will post details of jobs some time next week on this forum so please look out for details. If you have not volunteered, feel guilty and would still like to be involved, then please just turn up at the park at about 8.30am as there is always something useful to do.
We have many riders entered from all over the country (Durham, York, Manchester and Rugby), but still very few 3rd Cat riders from our own club. There are still places left and I will accept entries right up to 20th March.
Once again THANK YOU

Steve H
